Learning Holidays

Children often think that the holidays are a chance for them to not be learning, but nothing could be further from the truth! The holidays are a time of fantastic learning for our children and we encourage you, over the next three weeks, to lean into this and celebrate with your child the holiday learning they are doing.

Whether in SPLASH, staying with family members and friends or having a slower pace at home with a parent or siblings, holidays are full of wonderful learning opportunities and, if we can help our children see these experiences as learning opportunities, we can spark a love of learning that will extend beyond school.

At the end of each day, encourage your child to share what they have learned that day. It might be what their grandmother's favourite cookies are; how to hold a football when you're kicking it; a friend's favourite TV show; how to post a letter; or what you do in your work day.

These experiences help children think more deeply about the world around them and how they connect to it. They help children find more questions to explore and can develop wide ranging passions.

I pray your child has a wonderful holiday full of learning, love and joy.

See you in Term 3!
