School Council News

A real highlight of this term was the opening of our new Creative Play Space, a lovely area that promotes play and creativity for our students. The school council would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Community Bank Warrandyte for its generous contribution, as well everyone in our school community who have supported this project through various fundraising activities. It was also wonderful to celebrate the opening of the Wominjeka Garden on Thursday, thank you to the school for hosting such a special open afternoon.

The school council last met on June 17 and key points included:

Based on feedback about this year's school photo day, school council endorsed booking the same provider, The School Photographer, next year. We will review the format of photos once families have received their 2024 orders and provided any feedback.

School council has agreed to trial of more regular "pop-up canteen" days in term three, with funds raised to go towards the new playground.

Congratulations to Burch Memorial Preschool on securing a major grant to fund the construction of a new playground.

We are delighted that our major fundraiser will be held at Vue on Halcyon Friday 18th October. We sincerely thank the Rackley family for their continued support of our school.

We are exploring the option of holding this year's school disco at a new venue. Stay tuned for more details!

Our next school council meeting is scheduled for Monday 29th July at 7pm. Visitors are always welcome to attend.

School council also welcomes your feedback and suggestions on matters within our remit (school operational matters should be directed to the school). Contact us via the school office or by email: michelle.rose@education.vic.gov.au

Wishing you a restful mid-year break!

Warm regards,

Michelle Rose
