Information which you need to be aware of.
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
Congratulations to all the students who made their First Holy Communion last Thursday. Thank you to the families for the time and effort you have put into preparing to receive this most important of Sacraments. Thanks also to the Year 4 teachers for the outstanding way they prepared the students for the Mass. The students who sang in the School Sacramental choir which was overseen by Miss Carla Romeo, are to be commended for the time and their talents. I would also like to thank all the staff who attended the evening, this is a testament to the high importance St John’s school Community places on the Sacrament of the Eucharist.
STAFFING UPDATE
In Term 3 we will see a number of staffing changes. At the end of Term 2 farewell Rueben and Chrystal Vande Kraats, who have been with us for the past year. We wish them all the best as they spend the next 6 months in New Zealand, before returning home to Canada. We wish Mrs Amelia Milton and Mrs Leah Jozeljic all the best as they will both be on Maternity Leave during Semester Two.
At the beginning of Term 3 we welcome back Ms Vee Bacon who will be returning from her recent Maternity Leave. We are currently finalising a long term replacement for Year 5 Milton and parents from this class will be updated later this week.
YEAR 5 EXCURSION TO SOVEREIGN HILL
Last Friday our Year 5 students travelled to Ballarat and visited Sovereign Hill, an open air museum where the students had the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the life of a 1850s Gold Miner. Thanks to all the families for accommodating us with the early morning drop off and late pick up on the day. As you can see from the pictures below they had a great time.
NEW LUNCH ORDER OPTION
As mentioned in the last Newsletter, we are currently trialling a new Lunch Order option, in addition to Subway, with a company called TK Tuckshop. The next opportunity to order from their range of over 40 options priced from just $5.50 will be Friday 21st June. All of their meals come in packs with a selection of one or more snacks and drinks.
