School of Entrepreneurs

From the SOE Head of School
Greetings everyone,
This final 2025 edition of The Net invites us to reflect on a year filled with achievement, especially from our students in the School of Entrepreneurs. There is truly much to celebrate.
Year 10 Conquer the Great Aussie Bush Camp
This week, our spirited Year 10 students embarked on an unforgettable adventure at The Great Aussie Bush Camp in Kincumber, a week marked by personal growth, teamwork and discovering new strengths.
From the outset, it was clear this camp would be far more than a simple excursion. Every activity stretched not only physical abilities but also mental resilience, encouraging students to develop confidence and grit. Whether soaring on the giant swing, engaging in abseiling, or scaling the rock climbing wall, each student embraced the chance to step beyond their comfort zone.
These challenges were more than moments of excitement—each held a valuable life lesson. The giant swing mirrored the times in life when we must let go and trust; the abseiling represented our ambitions, even when they feel distant; and the rock climbing wall showed that perseverance and focus can lift us to new heights, both literally and figuratively.
Year 10, you have made St Luke’s proud. Your enthusiasm, unity, and willingness to embrace every challenge demonstrated what it means to strive for excellence.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to Miss Wick for coordinating the camp, and to the dedicated staff who supported students throughout the three days while being away from their families. Our gratitude also extends to the team at The Great Aussie Bush Camp for crafting such a memorable experience. May the spirit of this adventure continue to inspire you well into the new year.
Well done, Year 10 keep climbing, keep believing, and continue reaching new heights in 2026! 🌟

SCIENCE
Year 12 Physics students have been designing and building their own catapults for their Depth Study. After developing their prototypes, students tested how changes in pull-back distance, force and launch angle affected the projectile’s motion. They collected data, analysed their results, and wrote a full scientific report explaining the physics behind their findings.
The task gave students a hands-on way to apply concepts like energy transfer and projectile motion, while also building their skills in experimentation and scientific communication. It was fantastic to see the creativity, problem-solving and accuracy they brought to their designs and reports.
