Introducing Our New College Duffle Bag
The brains behind our new duffle bag is Year 11 student Darcy K, who came up with the concept and design after observing students trying to carry all their gear for sport, training, and after school activities.
"I wanted to create something that looked clean and modern but was also practical for everyday use. Most school bags don’t fit things like boots, towels, uniforms, or gym clothes easily, so the goal was to design a bag that suits how students move around during the week.
I focused on a shape and size that would work for any sport footy, soccer, swimming, athletics, or even just going to the gym. The design is simple but durable, with space for bigger items and a layout that keeps everything organised. I chose features that students use, like a large main compartment, side pockets, and strong handles that make it easy to carry before and after games or training sessions.
The biggest benefit is that it’s a universal bag for every student, not just athletes. Whether someone is doing ACC Sport, gym workouts, or weekend activities, the duffle makes it easy to pack and move around without multiple bags. It represents the College well and gives everyone a quality option they can use all year round."
Outstanding work Darcy!
The Duffle is for use in addition to the official College backpack and is now available at PSW Cheltenham.
Pathway To Politics
Student Will M (Year 11) is actively pursuing his keen interest in Australian politics both in the classroom and beyond, as he hopes to study politics and/or law at University. He recently attended the book launch of 28th Prime Minister of Australia, The Honourable Anthony Abbott AC, Australia: A History.
"My interest in politics is inspired by the issues facing Australia today - cost of living, environmental issues, and, particularly, youth mental health and the prevalence of social media. I am incorporating my interest in politics in my studies, through learning about the political systems of other countries in the past, in VCE History, and learning about the process of how law is passed in the Australian Parliament, in VCE Legal Studies. Additionally, I applied to be part of the National Youth Parliament program, which is for young Australians who are interested in politics, as well as making a positive difference to Australia's future."
We're proud to be supporting you on your journey, Will!
