Positive Behaviour for Learning

Every child has the right to learn and every teacher has the right to teach. |
Lesson Plan: Revisiting Respect | |
Step 1: List Learning Intentions and Success Criteria
We are learning to : Identify the emotions associated with people showing you and treating you with respect
It will look like: Listing the actions and words we can use to show respect to others Naming how you feel (emotions) when you are treated with respect
| |
Step 2: List a rationale for teaching the behaviour Why is it important?
Holy Rosary School Values: Relationships, Respect, Resilience, Integrity, Kindness.
Holy Rosary School Expectations: Safety is our right. Learning is our responsibility. Respect is our way.
| |
Step 3: Identify examples and non-examples of the desired behaviour What would the behaviour look/sound like? Examples Walking inside the school building and in walking zones to prevent injuries Listening to others when they’re speaking - including making eye contact and kind and open body language Keeping your belongings organised and the classroom clean to ensure people can find what they need and everyone has enough space to work and play Including peers in your play so that people aren’t left out
| |
What would the behaviour not look/sound like? Non-examples Running inside and knocking people over or tripping over Ignoring others when they are speaking to you - including turning away from them or pretending that you can’t hear them Not putting things in your bag properly so you lose things Leaving your belongings or items from the classroom that you used, out, creating clutter and mess in the classroom or in your bag box Leaving people out of games or activities
