Mr. Carlyle's Message

Hello families, and welcome to this week’s newsletter,

Junior Athletics

Next Wednesday is our junior athletics carnival.   Gates will open here at school from 11:25 am, and the carnival itself will kick off at 11:30 and conclude around 1:30.  The first event of the day will be our house relays, and we are looking forward to our Prep's, Grade 1's, and Grade 2's having a great time.

3/4 Camp

Next week, our middle years cohort heads away on camp from Monday - Wednesday.  I am looking forward to heading down on the first day and spending some time with this fantastic cohort as we near the end of the year.   It will, as always, be a great bonding experience, building lots of memories.

Art Show Success

Thank you to everyone who attended the Art Show yesterday. What an amazing community turnout.  A colourful and creative celebration of our students' successes this year.  A huge congratulations, thank you and shout out to our wonderful art teacher, Ms Spencer.  Whose vision for our art show saw creations all across our wonderful school.   I hope, like me, most of you were wowed by the glow room underwater world, and marvelled at the bird room.  My favourite new display is just outside my office of our resident birdlife here at Ballan PS.

The swimming program is completed!

Well, what a week it was. Last week, the juniors were whisked away on the bus day in, day out, travelling down the highway to Bacchus Marsh. The bus was initially filled with excitement, with the children buzzing and holding on for dear life.  Staff have reflected on the week and want to pass on to you all that the children were super. They were super fast at getting changed and remembering to keep all their things together. We were very happy with the way our juniors behaved and participated. Would you believe only one sock was spare and hanging around? The children listened very well to the swimming instructors and seemed to really love the practice in the pool. As the days went by, the children grew more tired, and a few accidental gulps of water did them no favours. Soon enough, we noticed fewer little faces in attendance and fewer children coming to school — a sure sign that those tummy troubles were making the rounds. Overall, what a fantastic week of swimming and how lucky were we to have such kind swim teachers working with our children.
