SCHOOL COUNCIL WRAP
As we come to the end of another school year, I would like to take a moment, on behalf of School Council, to reflect on what has been a very positive and rewarding year for our school community.
Firstly, I would like to sincerely thank our teachers and school leadership team. Your dedication, professionalism and care for our students is evident every day. The time, energy and passion you bring to your roles makes a huge difference to our children and our community, and we are incredibly grateful for all that you do.
I would also like to extend a very special thank you to Perrine and Kate, our wonderful administration team. You are the backbone of so much of the work that happens at Ripponlea, particularly in supporting School Council and the many events held throughout the year. Thank you for your patience, organisation and for putting up with the endless emails and questions from us — your support never goes unnoticed and is deeply appreciated.
I would also like to thank my fellow School Council members, Suzete, Romany, Skye, Kara, Colin, Nikki, Georgina, Naomi, Dave, Natalie, Marta & Kate, for their commitment, time and thoughtful contributions throughout the year. School Council has completed a significant amount of work in 2025, including the completion of the inclusive learning deck, installation of new fencing, participation in the school review process, the passing of policies, ongoing work around Child Safe Standards, and the establishment of the Pay It Forward Fund — to name just a few. This important work happens both in and beyond meetings, and I sincerely thank each member for their dedication and support of our school.
A very big thank you also goes to our wider school community. To the parents, carers and volunteers who have helped at events, supported fundraising activities and generously given their time — your involvement is what makes our school such a connected and supportive community.
This year, thanks to the incredible support of our community, School Council successfully fundraised $43,931.96. These funds were raised through events such as the Welcome Picnic, Election Day BBQ, Trivia Night, Rippers on the Run and our fabulous school production.
A special mention must go to the production team — particularly the writer and crew — whose creativity, hard work and countless hours behind the scenes resulted in a truly outstanding performance. The production not only showcased the talents of our students but also brought our community together in a wonderful way.
The funds raised will have a lasting impact across the school. A portion will be used to purchase new classroom furniture for students in Grades 3–6, helping to create comfortable and engaging learning spaces. We will also be setting aside funds towards the junior playground project as we continue to fundraise for this exciting development. Early next year, our students will have the opportunity to vote on whether they would like a noodle kart or a gaga pit as part of this project, ensuring student voice remains central to our decisions.
Thank you once again to everyone who has contributed to making this year such a success. We look forward to continuing to work together in the year ahead to support our students and our school.
Wishing everyone a safe, happy and relaxing end-of-year break.
Warm regards,
Tarryn Holland
School Council President
