Students have been eagerly creating and making their dioramas for Grapple. Students are learning about healthy eating and how a healthy lifestyle can impact their lives in the future. They have been working in groups, communicating, collaborating and coming up with amazing ideas to add to their projects.

In Maths, students have been learning about the area of parallelograms and triangles, undertaking mathematical investigations to calculate the answers. They have also learned how to turn fractions into decimals and percentages, as well as, calculating the volume of objects. Students participate in a daily Number Talk that aims to enhance their computation skills, they think, calculate and jot downs answers on a sticky note, then share their answers with the class.

In Literacy, the year 5 students are working on their captains’ speeches which is a persuasive text. They are incorporating the use of persuasive features such as modal words, time connectives, figurative language and more. The year 6 students are working on their legacy speeches where they’re writing about their schooling at GEPS, how they feel, what they would like to be they grow up and more.
