From the Leadership Team

Welcome to Endeavour College

Late last term, we welcomed the students, parents and caregivers of the 2026 Year 7 cohort and from this publication on, they join us as subscribers to the Anchor!

We welcome all our new families and trust that the excitement is building as your children look to join the Endeavour community in 2026.

Transition is different from change. There will be changes, of course, and they are being planned for right now by students, parents, and school staff. Things like uniform, transport to school, the technology we use at school, teachers and the daily timetable are all predictable changes for our new Year 7s.

Transition is more about what happens in students’ hearts and minds as they experience these changes. This is not so easy to predict and is where we focus our energies.

So far, we have been able to present our three Cs of transition: Connection, Culture and Curriculum.

Next time we see the 2026 Year 7s will be on their Transition Day in November, when they spend a day with us exploring the campus and building connections.

We are really looking forward to this day!

Our Year 9 students will head off on their Voyage Camp next week and we wish them well. The Voyage is a fantastic curriculum of growth and development for students and the “Challenge Accepted” camp is a great opportunity to bond further and support each other in taking part in the different challenges like kayaking, rock-climbing and abseiling!

We look forward to their report when they return.

This morning, I introduced a new model of student leadership to Year 7 and 8 students which includes the opportunity of Middle School Captain for two current Year 8s going into Year 9. Student leadership is an important part of our College, and these new roles provide opportunities for students to enhance school culture, improve student engagement, and help foster a collaborative learning environment.

There are also opportunities for Year 9s in each Village to represent and serve their Village through Middle School Village Captain and Vice-Captain roles. These roles will further strengthen our Village model and provide a great opportunity for student voice in our school. Year 8 students can access the application pack from their Care Group or Village Canvas page from today and have until Monday Week 6 to submit their applications.

In each of the 3 scenarios I have listed, great courage is required on the part of our students. Nelson Mandela said “I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it.”

Our students display amazing courage, resilience and integrity on a daily basis. While there might be some nerves in starting secondary school, abseiling or undertaking a leadership position, God promises to direct our paths:  Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified nor dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

We wish all students involved in these exciting opportunities coming up God’s richest blessings.
