Just Like You
Last week, students from Years 1 to 6 particpated in a program called Just Like You: a disability awareness program designed to build understanding, acceptance and inclusion of all people.
Through celebrating differences, developing empathy and creating inclusion, students learn that people with a disability are the same as everyone else – they are ‘Just Like You’.
Variety’s Just Like You program is fun, interactive and inclusive. This face to face workshop is delivered by professional facilitators who have a disability.
The program addresses both visible and hidden disabilities, ensuring that students grasp
the full spectrum of diversity and embrace inclusivity. Meeting and spending time
with a person who has a disability helps to build understanding and empathy in
children.
Together, we can make the world a kinder place for all kids, regardless of ability or background.
