Year 4 Coastal Care

On Thursday, the 7th the Year 4 cohort went on a trip down to Ocean Grove Beach where we learnt about caring for our coast. Our instructors came from Coast Care and Land Care. Everyone walked in their grade with their teacher, who led them to the carpark to meet the instructors.

There were four activities, one included some snack and a break. We learnt about hooded plovers and how to spot their nests. Also, there was a beach comb where we learnt about the flora of the sea. The last activity we completed was bird watching and bush tucker. Everyone was given binoculars and enjoyed searching for birds, then we tried saltbush which was a type of bush tucker. It was an amazing few hours we spent at the beach!!!
