Ryan's Ramblings

Dear Families,

The latter part of this week has brought us some beautiful sunshine, which was a welcome relief after the cold and wet weather of last weekend! It’s been great to see the students back outside, enjoying the warmer days with plenty of active play.

Next Friday is our Fun Run, which is always a highlight of the school calendar. A huge thank you to the many families and extended relatives who have already supported students with sponsorships for laps. Your generosity directly contributes to resources and improvements across the school.  This year, our Fun Run funds will be going towards our Wellbeing and ICT Infrastructure, two very important aspects of student development.  We’re also very grateful to our wonderful volunteers who make this event possible. We needed 34 volunteers for the crossings and tables alone! It’s always such a joyful day filled with colour, energy, and community spirit.

Today we celebrate World Teachers’ Day, and it’s the perfect opportunity to acknowledge the incredible work of our staff. Every day, our teachers bring care, creativity, and professionalism to their classrooms. They go above and beyond to make learning engaging and meaningful, and the results speak for themselves. This year, Dana Street Primary School achieved outstanding academic results; among the highest in the Central Highlands.  I am always in awe of our amazing teachers. They deserve more than just today dedicated to them. I thank them and I am hopeful that you can join me in thanking them, also.

At assembly today, we celebrated our talented Young Authors at a special assembly. Clem and Lucy did a fantastic job presenting their reflection to the whole school. The program this year has been another resounding success; a wonderful celebration of student voice, creativity, and confidence.

Have a fantastic weekend.

Ryan
