Under 14s Boys Cricket – Round 3 vs Armidale Secondary College
Thursday 13th November, students representing Inverell High School travelled to Armidale to take on Armidale Secondary College in Round 3 of the Under 14s Boys Cricket Competition at Jack Vallance Oval.
Skipper Lachlan S won the toss and elected to bowl first. Riley W and Lachlan S opened the attack strongly, each taking an early wicket. The momentum continued with Mitchell R, Eric T, Ryan S and Warwick F all claiming wickets, while Isaac S executed a brilliant runout. Safe hands in the field saw great catches taken by Lachlan S, Ryan S, Eric T and Isaac S, restricting ASC to 104 runs.
Brothers Ryan S and Lachlan S opened the batting and set the tone with some early boundaries. Later in the innings, Warwick F joined Lachlan and together they chased down the target of 105 in quick time. Both boys played some lovely shots, including a cracking pull shot from Warwick that cleared the boundary for a massive 6.
The team now progresses to the regional final, where they will face the winner of the match between Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School and Gulargambone Central School.
A massive thank you to Preston L for volunteering to umpire the game and to Mrs Doman for driving the bus for our students.
