Preschool Storytime
Storytime will begin on Thursday the 24th of October
Storytimeis a literacy-based program that can help prepare pre-school aged children for learning by developing their listening, speaking, and pre-reading skills. There is a focus on developing important social skills including the sharing of resources, as well as the activities specifically designed to improve the fine-motor skills of young children. Storytime sessions are held at Deer Park West Primary School each week on Thursday afternoons.
What to expect in a typical Storytime session:
On arrival, children will have an opportunity to work on various puzzles or construction tasks, or to sit & share a book or two with their parent or guardian.
We will then come together as a group to listen to a story that will be read-aloud to the children by one of our experienced teachers - Mrs. Sharon McLeod.
Each Storytime session will include a paper-craft or drawing activity for the children to complete, based on the book that was shared that week. If you have a preschool aged child with a sibling at Deer Park West Primary School or if you know someone who is planning to enrol a child at DPWPS to start in Foundation in 2025, we invite them to come along and join in the fun!
