It has certainly been a busy term so far!

My sincere thanks to all the Farm staff who have worked tirelessly with our students throughout the year to produce some great results at the Brunswick Show. From Champion Eggs to Reserve Champion Steer and Champion Guernsey. Our trade cattle and sheep also did very well and were a credit to the excellent work of staff and students. You would have also seen the excellent results for our students in the led classes.

Student Councillors 2025

We have had the election of next year’s Student Councillors from an initial field of eight. The six students elected to the role provide a great range of skills and temperament, which I am sure will add a great spark to the student leadership within the school.

I was also privileged to be involved in interviewing the five applicants for the School Captain role. Listening to these young leaders express their intentions and desires to improve the student experience around the College was such an inspiring experience. They were able to clearly articulate what they would like to achieve and how they would approach the task of getting things done.

I congratulate all of them for their thoughts and input. The College certainly has elected two great captains, Maggie Kilrain and Ethan Cook, for next year.

Graduation and Prize Day Wrap-Up

I have attended and conducted many Graduations in my career, but I must say the Year 12 Graduation and Prize Day on the 8th November was another stunning experience of the generosity, care and commitment of all the staff around the school.

The gym was transformed into a fabulous auditorium by the front office team along with some help from the students. Our awesome cleaning team made sure everything was sparkling and clean. Our magnificent catering crew provided morning tea and lunch, which would rival a spread at Government House with a variety of savoury and sweet treats for the hundreds of hungry guests.

Congratulations to the Student Councillors who had been well drilled by Mr Pfitzner and ran a seamless ceremony to celebrate the achievements of the graduating Year 12s.

Thank you to everybody who made such a wonderful occasion happen; the donors of prizes and scholarships, the guest speaker and other guests and ALL the staff who pitched in and helped set it all up and take it down again. It will certainly be one of my enduring memories of Harvey Ag.

Year 11s

Most Year 11s are finishing this week, with some returning next week to complete some short courses.  I wish them all the best as they go off to summer jobs or go back home to work.

Transition Students

With that, we will welcome 68 new students for 2025 this weekend for the Transition as they gain their introduction to what it means to become an ‘Aggie’. I look forward to meeting them and their parents as they start on their new adventure.
