The Latest News

This week, we’ve been celebrating our teachers and their dedication to all students and the learning process. As we began Term 4, we renewed our commitment to providing targeted learning opportunities for every student. Our staff have been working diligently to ensure that all children are not only learning but also having chances to experience life beyond the classroom.

Thanks to all families that contributed to morning tea on Wednesday. It was a true show of support for our teachers.

A list of Term 4 dates can be found at the end of the newsletter. While some dates are confirmed, others are still awaiting finalisation. We encourage you to add these dates to your calendar.

2025 dates to note:

Saturday 15th February: Elmore Summer Send Off Ball

- we will be looking for volunteers before the end of the year due to the change in date.

Saturday 15th March: Elmore Tractor Pull

- this is a major fundraiser for St Joseph’s and is held in partnership with the Elmore Field Days and Events Centre.

Although 2024 is far from over, we are already deep into planning for 2025. If you have any questions about the upcoming year, please feel free to reach out. If your family does not plan to return to St Joseph's, we kindly ask that you inform us by Friday 8th November.

2025 Staffing:

We have been delighted to have Elli Williams as a valued member of the St Joseph’s community. Yesterday, Elli shared the exciting news that she has secured a teaching position at Christ the King School in Newcombe (Geelong). While there will be opportunities to express our appreciation for Elli’s dedication to your children, she remains fully committed to teaching and learning for the time being. We are incredibly proud of the teacher Elli has become and are grateful for all that she brings to our students and the school community.

Grade 6 fundraiser:

Grade 6 students are planning a Big Day Out. They are to raise enough money to cover the costs of the day. Each leadership team will take it in turns to sell Zooper Doopers on Tuesday and Thursday for $1.00.

Playground:

Fundraising initiatives have been directed to a new playground near the pavilion. In January 2025 Adventure Plus Playgrounds will install the playground.

The current playground is to be removed.

We are offering the playground to families in the first instance. If you are interested in rehoming the playground, we ask that you let Liz or Allison know.

Purchaser to remove the playground (with our help)

Cost: $500

There are many projects being planned to enhance our outdoor space. We are grateful for your thoughts during Term 3 and are using your ideas to set priorities for works in 2025.

Thanks for your support.

Liz
