Classroom Snapshot- PE

I feel like I say this every term, but this is a big term of sport!

Run Club began late last term and continued until this week. The main purpose of our Run Club is for students to come and train and be part of the district cross country team but anyone who wanted to come along and get some exercise in were welcome. We had many students join us on Tuesday and Thursday mornings to work at increasing their fitness and endurance. Congratulations to all students who participated this year.

On May 2nd, we had our annual whole-school athletics day at Kings Park. We had perfect weather, loads of enthusiasm and lots of fun! Everyone participated and gave their best to help boost their house teams points. Congratulations to Red House who were the overall winners on the day.

A big shout out to all the parents who jumped in and helped on the day. We are so grateful for your help and appreciate all your time given to help make this event fantastic.

Friday will see our cross country team head to Crystal Brook Park to compete against other schools in the district. We wish them every success as they take on this challenge.

Next week, our senior students will take part in the district Winter Sports round robin competition. This year, we have teams competing in netball, t-ball, volleystars and soccer. Winter Sports is a great opportunity for the students to try out different sports and catch up with friends from other schools in our district. We wish all the Year 4, 5 and 6 students the best of luck as they represent our school at this event.

We are on the look out for a soccer ref and netball umpire for the Winter Sports day. If anyone is available to help out, please contact me via email or leave your name at the office.

Stay active and stay warm now the cold weather has arrived!

Yours in all things sport,

Mrs Wicks
