Welcome
Ms Megan Jeffreys will start her teaching journey with us very soon. Megan will come with ESS experience and will be completing her degree along the way. Welcome to ETRPS Megan.
Farewell
A very heartfelt farewell to Mr Brodie Challis. Our community is feeling very sad as we say goodbye to Mr Challis. Brodie will finish the term at ETRPS then travel back home to his family for the foreseeable future. Brodie is an outstanding teacher with a big heart. He has a very positive outlook on life, his class and working as a team member. He has a musical background and we were fortunate enough to hear him play his guitar and sing to our students at times. We wish Brodie all the very best as he returns home and really hope to see him back at ETRPS teaching :) in the future, We will miss you tremendously.
To Ms Wright who will also finish at ETRPS at the end of Term 2. Ms Wright is moving to the big lights and hustle and bustle of Melbourne. Kirsten has been an extremely bright, busy and dedicated teacher at our school and certainly worked very hard to build positive relationships with her students, staff and families. Kirsten's experience along with her knowledge has supported our staff to develop great programs and build enthusiasm in 1 / 2 area. We wish Kirsten all the happiness and a new bright future as she embarks on exciting times in her life.
AToSS
Our Year 4 - 6 students are completing the Attitudes to School Survey this week and next week. This is a chance to share student voice and perspectives on our school. We look forward to the results and supporting our students.

New Curriculum
The Department of Education and Training have introduced new content that is mandated to teach under the heading of Resilience, Rights & Respectful Relationships (RR&RR). You will encounter information coming home to introduce the topics currently. We have experienced some questions in regard to the content and encourage you to contact your classroom teacher, myself or Jacob for clarification. This content links directly to the Child Safe Standards (CSS) and is in full view for you to Google and read about. Please go to the DET website for further information https://www.vic.gov.au/respectful-relationships
Program background provided;
The Royal Commission into Family Violence identified the critical role that schools and early childhood education have in creating a culture of respect to change the story of family violence for future generations.
In 2016, respectful relationships education became a core component of the Victorian Curriculum from foundation to year 12, and is being taught in all government and Catholic schools and many independent schools.
Everyone in our community deserves to be respected, valued and treated equally. We know that changes in attitudes and behaviours can be achieved when positive attitudes, behaviours and equality are embedded in our education settings.
Respectful Relationships is about embedding a culture of respect and equality across our entire community, from our classrooms to staffrooms, sporting fields, fetes and social events. This approach leads to positive impacts on student’s academic outcomes, their mental health, classroom behaviour, and relationships between teachers and students.
Together, we can lead the way in saying yes to respect and equality, and creating genuine and lasting change so that every child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
Myths and facts of RR&RR are also available on the website link above.
