College Life

TLG Trikes
During their Teach, Learn, Grow tour, our Year 11 and 12 students who were travelling to Bayulu Remote Community School held an online meeting with the Principal and Deputy Principals. Through this dialogue, they identified a tangible opportunity to support the Early Learning Centre, choosing to fundraise for two tricycles to enhance play, movement, and wellbeing for Bayulu’s youngest learners.
Through a series of creative and community-driven events — including a sausage sizzle at the Robocup competition, a movie night, bake sales, and raffles — they raised just over $1,100 to bring their vision to life.
The trikes arrived this in Bayulu week, and the joy on the faces of the Bayulu students says it all.
Cheer Club
A brand new co-curricular opportunity has opened this term for anyone interested in Cheer. We have had over 20 students from Years 7 to 12 hitting the Dance Studio on Monday mornings from 7.15am, ready to learn and have some fun. Under the expert teaching of our very own HASS teacher and Accredited Cheer Coach, Miss Lucinda Spence, the students have been improving their skills so quickly while sharing a heap of laughs and good times. If you are interested in joining the group, please contact Mr Beath or come along to the Dance Studio on Monday morning.
Winter Harmony 2025
Winter Harmony showcased the talent and dedication of our Senior School musicians, with a mix of classical, contemporary and jazz performances.
Congratulations to Ishanvi, Violet, Clarissa, Otis, Andrew, Ophelia, Arya, Yi-An, Alaia, Tyela, Shameerhaa, Sedley, Leticia, Caleb, Bryce, Corbyn, Paramie, Max and Kyle for their outstanding performances.
It was a wonderful celebration of our students’ hard work and love of music.
Bake Sale for Headspace
Last week, Megan and Rebekah (Year 9), with the support of our Wellbeing Council, hosted a bake sale to raise funds and awareness for Headspace. Their initiative was met with generous support from the College community, and together they raised nearly $600 for this important cause!
Textiles Class with Mariaan Pugh
Our Year 9 and 10 Textiles students had the pleasure of working with artist Mariaan Pugh.
Mariaan is an accomplished artist working primarily with fibre and textiles, and a lecturer in Fashion and Textile Design at North Metropolitan Tafe.
Mariaan shared her artwork and the creative process she takes when designing and making. She is drawn to vivid colour, playful motifs, and seductive tactile surfaces, Mariaan’s work subverts traditional textile techniques such as rug making, embroidery and weaving.
Her playful approach to art and design is guiding the approach our student are taking in their retro-inspired rug-tufting and embroidery projects.
Languages Week Quiz Winners
Our classes put their knowledge of French and Chinese language, history, and culture to the test in a Languages Week Quiz! From tricky vocabulary to cultural facts, students showed off what they’ve learned throughout the week. Bravo to Ms Skelly’s Year 8 Tutor Group, who took out the top spot! Students were rewarded with a delicious French crêpe breakfast. What a great way to wrap up a celebration of languages and culture!
