Principal's Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

I am excited that the winter weather is starting to lift, and we are getting warmer days. I look forward to seeing our many deciduous trees start to blossom soon.

5/6 Camp:

Next week 70 plus 5/6 students will head off to Canberra for a 4-night camp. The week away will be filled with lots of opportunities to see the many sights of Canberra, our Nation’s capital. I have been on this camp before, and although it is tiring, the experiences are amazing. We hope the children and staff attending have a great time. They are due back about 5.00pm on the Friday and we will aim to keep you updated with Class Dojo messages as to how the buses are travelling in the traffic.

Staff Farewells:

This week we had a morning tea for 2 special ladies, Mrs Cassar and Mrs Mills, both leaving within the next few weeks to have their babies. This is Mrs Cassar’s third and Mrs Mills first. We wish both of you all the very best and look forward to meeting their little people when they come for a visit.

Glasses for Kids for Prep – Year 3:

Parents of students in years Prep to 3 still have an opportunity for your child to participate in the Glasses for Kids program. Please click on this link to complete the online consent form: https://stateschoolsrelief.snapforms.com.au/form/gfk-consent-form

Swimming P-2:

Our weeklong swimming program starts in a few weeks, with Preps going swimming every day from 25th until the 29th August. The 1/2s will go the following week from Monday 1st to Friday 5th September. You should have received a note last week, which are due back on the 18th August. There are currently only 15 places left for the year 1/2s, before they will be placed on the waitlist. Preps still have a large number of vacancies. Please bring your note back as soon as possible if you would like your child to participate. We welcome parents to come to the pool and help change their own child if necessary. Times each class will attend will be published via Class Dojo the Thursday before swimming starts.

Prep 2026 Enrolments:

If you, or somebody you know, has a child turning 5 before 30th April 2026 they are eligible to attend school in 2026. All children have a guaranteed place in their local school, and some schools, like ours, can accept enrolments outside their designated area. If you feel they are ready to start school next year and would like to find out more about what we have to offer, please call the office to join one of our small group tours. These are fortnightly on a Wednesday from 9.30am or monthly in the evening at 6.00pm. To help with organising staff and preparing for an effective transition program, enrolments should be received as soon as possible. Our Prep Transition Program begins early Term. We would love to see your child be part of this experience.
