l in two weeks timesDear Families,
What a busy two weeks it has been!
Congratulation to Maysie, Hunter, Scout, and Lucas who made their Sacrament of Confirmation and First Communion today in front of family and friends. It is always a lovely celebration that brings together our Parish and school community.
This week we welcome back Miss (Mrs) Gab after her wedding, honeymoon and holiday in Italy these past six weeks. I'm sure she will share many photos of her time away with the students. Although the children and staff missed Gab immensely we could not have chosen a more perfect and suited replacement for her than Evie. The past six weeks have been seamless in the Foundation classroom with everyone continuing with their learning and love of school. Evie will be with us for a few more days in the coming fortnight to handover to Miss Gab and support us as the musical gets closer.
This week we have learning conversations with times allocated on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Please book your appointment via the PAM/Simon Everywhere app on your phone. If you have PSG meetings please remember these occur on Tuesday throughout the day. If you are unsure of your time please ring the office to confirm.
The students and staff have been busily preparing costumes, props, backdrops and rehearsing their lines in preparation for The Cow Moosical in less that two weeks - Wednesday 10th September at 6.30pm. Tickets are $10 for adults and can be bought at the door or from the office.
This Tuesday seven students will represent St Joseph's at the District Athletics in Shepparton. we wish them all the very best and look forward to sharing their experiences of the day. The school athletics event will be held in Term Four.
This Friday we welcome dads, granddads and male figures in the students lives to a special coffee and donut morning from 8.15 to 8.45. We look forward to seeing everyone enjoying some time together in the morning.
Our school fete/market is slowly creeping up on us - Sunday 19th October. The P and F are working hard to organise stalls, donations and activities for the day. A timetable has been created for all families to help on the day - this will be shared shortly. In the meantime keep on the hunt for second hand books, clothes and toys for our stalls. Any clothes hangers would also be appreciated.
With the cold weather still lingering it is vital that students keep warm and have appropriate clothing and follow our school uniform. A school beanie is available to purchase from the office if your child wishes to wear a beanie at school.
The Nagambie Community House is organising an Art Expo early next term for all school aged students to enter art pieces to display and possibly win prizes. As we have focused on Performing Arts (rather than Visual Arts) this year, your child may choose to enter some of their previous art pieces from our Art Show last year. New entries would also be very welcomed. I will talk to the students more about this in the coming weeks.
Finally there is a lot of illnesses around at the moment and we have had many students away with symptoms. Please keep monitoring your child and if they have cold/flu like symptoms please keep them at home.
PS. Congratulations to a number of our parents who played netball on the weekend and won their way into a grand final in two weeks. Well done! Your coach is super proud!
Have a wonderful week everyone.
Take care and stay safe,
Maree
