Principal's Report

As always, Term 3 is a very busy term. Not only are there the normal things that are done in a term, but where we live, we also have the craziness that all the sports add, including the snow season. While it is important that we make the most of all these opportunities, we also need to make sure we look after ourselves so that we don’t wear out. Sickness is another factor in Term 3, and it is when we are run down that we tend to succumb. Being nearly halfway through the term, it is important to make sure we get proper rest and eat a balanced diet.
This week, the VCE-VM students participated in the Winton Try a Trade Day. This day showcases many TAFE options, as well as emergency services and the Defence Force. Being August, there are also many Universities and TAFEs which are holding Open Days for students to visit. These are a good opportunity for senior students to have a look at courses of interest and to see the campus and facilities. While families can visit at any time, the Open Days are designed to highlight what particular venues can offer.
Just a reminder about this short survey. We want to hear from as many people as possible to collect information that will help with the Review. A link was emailed through Compass to families, students and staff on Friday the 8th, with the survey closes on Friday 22nd August.
Mid Term 3 Progress Reports will be available on Compass today. These reports are completed in Weeks 4 and 8 of each term and help to monitor the students’ learning habits in class. All students should be able to achieve working at a level of 3, the expected level. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the information provided in these reports, please don’t hesitate to contact the individual teacher, or the Student Engagement Leaders; currently Mitch Harris for Years 7 and 8; Jenny Farrington for Years 9 and 10; Shantelle Stimson for Years 11 and 12.
