Darebin Youth Services is staging its first ever Queer Formal at Northcote Town Hall on Thursday, 25 September. This is a drug, alcohol, vape and smoke-free event for Queer Young People and Allies aged 12-18 that live, work, play or are connected to the city of Darebin.
Planned by young people, for young people, there'll be live music, performers, a wellbeing expo, food, friends, and a safe space to dance the night away. No pass outs.
Tickets are $10.50 each (including booking fee) or contact youthservices@darebin.vic.gov.au for free tickets.
Preston Primary is having a giant party to celebrate turning 150 this year - and all past students are invited.
Head to the school, in Tyler St, between 10 am and 2pm on 14 September (this Sunday) to see photographic displays, school tours, and to enjoy Devonshire tea and other food options.
Put in your order for a personalised paver to help the school build a 150 Years commemorative path. Or pick up other commemorative goods include tea towels and cups.

The Darebin Falcons are inviting girls of all ages to be a part of their growing cricket community. Whether you're new to the game or a seasoned player, there's a team for everyone.
Curious about cricket? There is a Come and Try Day this Sunday, 14 September, at Capp Reserve in Halwyn Street, Preston, from 10am. It’s a chance to meet the team, have fun and see if cricket is the sport for you!
The club has teams from Under 10s through to senior level. Pre-season training starts on September 18. There is also a Cricket Blast program for younger cricketers.

The Fitzroy Grrrls baseball team is inviting girls to come learn baseball fundamentals, build skills and connect with others at a free school holiday training program.
The program runs from 22–26 September 2025, running 9:30–11:30am each day. It aligns with Week 1 of Term 3 school holidays and will be held at Merri Park, Northcote.

The West Preston Cricket Club is celebrating its 130th year of smashing sixes with a community day on Saturday, 21 September.
Bring the family to Zwar Reserve in Preston to enjoy fun activities, feast on yummy food and learn more about playing cricket with the Sharks.

It's cricket recruiting time for the Reservoir Cobras. The club is based at C.T. Barling Reserve, 880 Plenty Rd, Reservoir. Under 10s play Sunday morning and train Wednesday from 4.45pm. Under 12s & 14s teams play Friday evenings and train Tuesdays from 5pm.

Gather your basketball buddies for prizes, pizza and plenty of hoops when Banyule Basketball hosts a 5x5 Scrimmage event on October 1 and 2.
Junior basketballers can show their stuff on Wednesday, October 1, while senior scrimmagers are invited to take to the court on Thursday, October 2.
The event will be held at RMIT in Bundoora.
