MUSIC NEWS – TERM 3 WEEK 3
Hello everyone,
The year has flown by and we’ve been busy in the Music Room. Since my return from LSL at the start of Term 2, Mrs Pittman has continued to teach the 1/2s, and I’ve had a great time getting to know this year’s Preps, as well as taking our 3/4s and 5/6s to new heights of learning. The Preps have focused mostly on dynamics (loud and soft) and tempo (fast and slow), exploring these with voice, movement, and instruments. Our 3/4s are developing their ukulele skills as well as learning more musical concepts, and the 5/6s have begun to add guitars and keyboards to their repertoire.
In Term 2, the largest choir our school has had in many years worked very hard to prepare for the Hamilton Eisteddfod. They performed beautifully – I’m very proud of them, and they should be of themselves too! We’re taking a break from choir for Term 3 so that the school can focus on…
Gray St’s Got Talent! After three weeks of auditions, the semi-finalists have been selected, and Semi-Finals will be carried out over the next two weeks, on Monday and Tuesday lunchtimes. It is expected that the Grand Final will be held early September, with more details to be given closer to the date.
Kind regards,
Mrs Garland
