Nativity of Mary (Mary’s Birthday)
On the 8th of September every year, our Church celebrates the Feast of the Nativity of Mary. This day celebrates the birth of Mary, the mother of Jesus.
Gospel Reading (Shorter form) Matthew 1:18-23
A reading from the holy Gospel according to Matthew
This is how Jesus Christ came to be born. His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph; but before they came to live together she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit. Her husband Joseph, being a man of honour and wanting to spare her publicity, decided to divorce her informally. He had made up his mind to do this when the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, ‘Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because she has conceived what is in her by the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son and you must name him Jesus, because he is the one who is to save his people from their sins.’ Now all this took place to fulfil the words spoken by the Lord through the prophet:
The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son
and they will call him Emmanuel,
a name which means ‘God-is-with-us’.

Sacrament of First Reconciliation
We look forward to gathering with the families of 12 of our Year 3 students who will be celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation tonight at 7.00pm in St Mark’s Church. Today the Year 3 students participated in the Reconciliation Retreat Day, which began with attending the morning Parish Mass, followed by learning about the theme of ‘Reconciliation’.
Celebration of Father’s Day
This Sunday we celebrate Father’s Day. It is a day for us to show appreciation for fathers, grandfathers and other significant males in our lives.
As a school community, we wish everyone a wonderful day on Sunday and we especially pray for the members of our school whose fathers have died. May they enjoy eternal life in heaven.
Prayer for Fathers, Grandfathers and Father Figures
Heavenly Father,
you entrusted your Son Jesus,
the child of Mary,
to the care of Joseph,
Bless all fathers, grandfathers and
significant males in our lives.
Give them strength and wisdom,
tenderness and patience;
support them in the work they have to do.
We pray for our fathers who have died,
that they have been welcomed into Your loving embrace,
and that our family will one day
be reunited in your heavenly kingdom.
Amen.
Saints Club News!
Putting our Mercy Values of ‘Service and Compassion’ into action!
Our focus this term has been to support the needy people in our local community by putting into action our Mercy Values of ‘Service and Compassion’. It has been pleasing to see our Year 6 leaders of the Saints Club confidently taking charge of supporting their group members with preparing the muffins.
Students’ snapshots about their cooking experience
My peers (younger/same age) and I made cinnamon muffins. We all went into groups and worked together to make lots and lots of muffins! We all worked together and took turns. We weren't being greedy, but we were very collaborative. The day after we made the muffins, we went and gave the muffins to the Hope Cafe, so people could enjoy them! By Ahana
It was lots of fun making muffins with our groups. We were very collaborative and we worked together really well. I hope to make more muffins soon! By Drishti
