Library News

We're continuing to enjoy our whole school focus on Australian Authors.

Our Foundation class love Aaron Blabey's stories and enjoy bopping along to the Jessica Mauboy rap song about 'Pig the Pug'. Copy and paste the link into your browser to join in with your child/children. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3F8MW5yZqY It has been great to see how they are becoming familiar with the library layout when they are borrowing.

The Year One students are immersing themselves with the rhymes in Mem Fox's books and have enjoyed reading these together with their peers.

Our Year 2/3s have explored Graeme Base's website to help solve the mystery of the 'The Jewel Fish of the Karnak'. The 3/4s focused on different ways to share their understanding of a text by listening to rap songs of Nick Bland's books.

Ideas are flowing in the 4-6 groups, with creative ways to share their learning.

Well done everyone!

It has also been fabulous to see so many of our students borrowing books and placing them in their Sacred Heart library bags. Below is a photo of our library bags, which students would have received when they enrolled. Some of our older students may not have these. They are available at the uniform shop

Our wonderful outdoor library in action at recess on Thursday- such a great initiative!
