Another full week in Foundation ~ assembly, photos and heaps of learning! Thanks so much to all the parents and other family members who watched the Foundation kids do their stuff at assembly. How good were they!! A big congratulations to the following students ~ Tehiva (see below), Maddy, Valentina and Romeo who received certificates for their great work in class over the term.
Inquiry ~ In a Nutshell
We have been busy in class getting to know each other better. To this end, part of our Inquiry Unit has been around forming friendships and finding out what things we have in common. The students have been sharing their 'Nutshells' with others in class and are learning more about their peers, their interests and hobbies. It's been great listening to the children share their important stuff with each other.
Year One
I cant believe that we are nearly at the end of term! This week the students were so excited as we did some ART!
In our storybook session, we read Edwina the Emu.
The grade 1s drew their own chicks using crayon and watercolour. They then chose a name for them and wrote an adjective to describe them. Here is what they looks liked.
Year 2/3
Hello Families,
As we approach the end of Term some children in class have needed to be reminded of the expected behaviour in class. At the beginning of the Term the class came up with a set of rules that we all need to follow. These rules I have taken a photo of and will add below. If you have time it would be great to read over these with your child. In week 9 on Monday we are celebrating Harmony Day and there is a fun filled day planned for all the children. Please join in on the celebrations if you can. Have a lovely weekend and take care.
Year 3/4 & Year 2/3
This week the Year 3/4 and Y2 students celebrated St Patrick's Day by learning about St Patrick the Patron Saint of Ireland.
Viraj
We did a scavenger hunt today to learn about St Patrick’s Day. We learned that St Patrick was a priest who spread the word about Christianity. He used the shamrock to teach about the Holy Trinity - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. And we got green jelly with mint chocolate. It was so delicious.
Emma & Stella
In the morning we did a treasure hunt to find the 3 leaf clovers, to find information about St Patrick’s Day. When we were finished we got to have green jelly and green chocolate.
Olivia / Georgia
We went on a treasure hunt looking for shamrocks. This gave us information about St Patrick’s Day. After this we got to have green jelly and chocolate if we wanted. It was hard to find the different information needed to complete the questions. But it was worth it in the end because the jelly was yummy.
Year 4/5 and Year 5/6
This St. Patrick's Day, the Year 4/5 and Year 5/6 students had a fun and educational celebration. We started by watching an informative video to learn about the history and traditions of the day. Afterwards, everyone took part in an exciting quiz to test their knowledge. Students then completed an activity to learn more about St. Patrick and Ireland. To wrap up the day, both classes got creative with a pop art-inspired shamrock colouring activity. It was a great way to explore the holiday, have fun and show off some artistic skills!
