From the Principal's Desk

We have had a wonderful start to the term, with a variety of activities and events that reflect our commitment to student learning, wellbeing, and faith formation.

Last Thursday, our Year 4, 5, and 6 students participated in a Positive Student Relationships workshop. This session encouraged our students to build healthy, respectful connections with one another and reinforced the importance of kindness and inclusion. On the same day, we hosted an Anti-Bullying workshop for parents, providing valuable insights into recognising and addressing bullying behaviours, as well as fostering supportive environments at home and school.

On Wednesday, our teaching staff gathered for a twilight meeting focused on analysing the Mathematics Assessment Interview (MAI) data. This reflective session allowed us to identify student progress, celebrate achievements, and plan targeted teaching strategies to ensure all students receive the support they need in their mathematical learning.

On Monday, 19th February, our swimming team proudly represented our school at the Wagga Deanery Swimming Carnival at the Oasis Swimming Complex in Wagga. Our students demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and determination, and we commend them on their efforts. Thank you to our staff and parents for their support in making this event a success.

Congratulations to Frankie, Nate, and Kasey, who have qualified for the Wagga Diocesan Carnival, which will be held this Wednesday at Oasis in Wagga. We wish them all the best as they compete at the next level!

This week, we will mark the beginning of Lent with Shrove Tuesday, where students will enjoy delicious pancakes while learning about the tradition of using up rich ingredients before the Lenten season of fasting and reflection.

On Ash Wednesday, our school community will gather for Mass at 9:30am at church, where students and staff will receive ashes as a sign of repentance and renewal. Lent is a sacred time in the Church’s calendar, inviting us to reflect, pray, and make sacrifices in preparation for Easter. We encourage our students and families to embrace the Lenten journey through acts of kindness, prayer, and service to others.

Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in your child’s education and faith development. May this Lenten season be a time of grace and renewal for all.

Yours sincerely,

Daniel FrancisPrincipal
