Physical Education

Foundation Learning Centre
In the Foundation Learning Centre, students have learnt about athletics and how to participate safely. To stay safe, students are taught to run in a straight line, avoiding any sharp turns or running off course. Students are also learning to listen carefully to instructions. In addition, the students have been learning about sharing equipment and taking turns.
Junior Learning Centre
In the Junior Learning Centre, students have learnt about athletics this term. Students have been participating in running, hurdling, and jumping activities. Students have learnt to run with control, jump in the correct way, and hurdle safely. This includes understanding how to use equipment properly, warming up before exercises, and listening to instructions. Working together with teammates is also a key part of PE. By cooperating with others, students have helped each other stay safe and enjoy the activities more.
Middle Learning Centre
In the Middle Learning Centre, our athletic training has covered a variety of exciting sports to help students build strength, speed, and teamwork. We have focused on sprints, relays, hurdles, shot put, discus, long jump, and triple jump. Students have learnt about the importance of exercise, warming-up and cooperation. Students have gained a greater understanding of a variety of athletic techniques, such as, how to pass a baton correctly and how to hold a shot put or a discus. These activities helped students develop athletic skills, stay fit, and learn the importance of hard work and teamwork!
Senior Learning Centre
In the Senior Learning Centre, athletics training has focused on perfecting technique to help students perform their best. Students have focused on a variety athletic events, such as, relay races, allowing students to extend their understanding of the proper way to pass the baton smoothly and quickly between teammates. In discus, students learnt how to hold the discus correctly and the best way to throw it for maximum distance. Additionally, for long jump, students focused on the proper running technique, take-off position, and landing form to ensure athletes jump as far as possible. By practising these techniques, students have improved their performance and gain confidence in their athletic abilities.
