Principal's Report

Dear St A’s Community,
I hope this newsletter finds you well! St A's has been buzzing with activity this past 2 weeks!
School Photos
Well done to our staff and students on a seamless schedule for School Photos on Wednesday. The photographers commented on how well behaved our students were during the day, which is a credit to our school and families. Due to the high winds we were unable to take the whole school photo, so we will let families know when this is happening once it has been rescheduled.
Easter Egg Raffle
Thank you to the families that have made a contribution to our annual Easter Egg raffle! we are still taking donations, so please feel free to bring these to the school office.
Harmony Day
On Friday we celebrated Harmony Day, a national day to recognize and celebrate the cultural diversity of Australia. A time to reflect on the importance of inclusiveness, respect, and belonging for all Australians, regardless of their cultural background.
Wearing orange on Harmony Day was a way to show our support for cultural diversity and inclusion. Thank you to all the students that came with a splash of orange to show these important attributes. We celebrated with a special mass with Father and gathered as a whole school community.
Art Award
Today one of our very special Grade 1 students is receiving an award at the Catholic Leadership Centre, as part of the Catholic Education Week Creative Arts Exhibition for her art piece entitled Lady bugs in the sunlight! Congratulations to Demi Miaoulis in Grade 1 for winning this most prestigious award!
I will be attending the ceremony today, along with our Art teacher Mrs K and Demi's family. I will add a photo later today after the award has been presented.
Social media
I'm sure that all parents are aware, there are age restrictions for the use of social media. Currently as a school we know that we have many students using these platforms. As parents it is your responsibility to ensure you are aware of what your child/ren are doing on line. At school we teach the students to be responsible on line, but unfortunately there seems to be a number of students who are using these platforms out side of school and are not doing so responsibility. Social media requires children to be 13 years old to create an account and last time I checked we do not have any students of that age attending St A's.
Show Grace, Be the joy for others and God Bless.
