Meet the Team

Meet our wonderful prep team!
Hello! My name is Amelia Mihocic, and I am thrilled to continue my journey at School of the Good Shepherd as Prep Brilliant’s teacher this year. I’ve had the pleasure of teaching at this school for the past three years in Grade 2. I absolutely love working with young learners and am passionate about helping them to view learning as a lifelong process. In the Prep classroom, I strive to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where each child feels valued, confident, and excited to learn. I love listening to their curious questions and helping students explore their interests. I can’t wait for a great year ahead!
Hello! My name is Rosemary Anderson, and I have the pleasure of teaching Prep A. I am truly passionate about my role in education; I genuinely believe teaching is the most rewarding profession one could have. Working at SoGS feels like being in the best environment imaginable—our students display remarkable respect for one another, and the staff fosters an atmosphere of inclusivity and support that enhances our educational community. It warms my heart when students greet me or take a moment to share stories about their holidays or weekends. I am eagerly looking forward to witnessing the growth and successes of each of my students, not only in their academic pursuits but also in their social interactions and spiritual development.
Hi everyone, I'm Jade Laidler and the students call me Miss Jade!
This year I'm thrilled to be part of the Prep team, working as a LSO in Prep A. Although I've been at SOGS for nearly 9 years, this is my first time in Prep, so far I'm loving how fast paced and colourful each day is although by 3pm I'm enjoying the 15 minutes of a silent car car ride to pick up my own kiddos from school LOL! Working as an LSO is fulfilling and some days I pinch myself at how lucky I am to have such a wonderful job, especially on the days where I get to sing, read books and help with creating Art pieces. I became an LSO because I missed my own kids so much when they went to school that I thought if I can't spend my days at home nurturing them I'd like to spread kindness to other children whilst they are away from their own parents from 8:30 - 3.00.
Another bonus of being an LSO is I reach my 10 000 steps everyday, without fail!
Hi, my name is Amira Hanna, and I am thrilled to be a part of the SOGS community. As a Co-educator, I support the children in Prep B two days a week. I also work two days in the Library. I adore picture books and love being surrounded by the magic of reading in the library. My fluency in three languages: Syriac, Arabic, and English helped me support our EAL students and their families within the school. With almost 15 years of experience at SOGS, I have developed a deep passion for supporting students and staff alike. Every morning, I look forward to seeing the smiles on the students' faces and working alongside our dedicated staff, who embody the school's motto, "Known by Your Name".
I'm grateful to be part of this wonderful community!
Hi my name is Samantha Mercieca but Miss Sam to the students. I have been working at School of the Good Shepherd for a year now. I worked with the Preps last year and lucky enough to be in the Prep room again this year! My favourite colour is green and love to read. I love working as a LSO as it is a fulfilling and impactful role that offers a unique opportunity to support students academic growth while fostering a positive and nurturing classroom environment.
Hi everyone my name is Ash and I am one of the LSO’s in Prep B!
This is my third year working at School of The Good Shepherd and have loved every part of being in the sogs community. I am familiar with working with junior students, as I have worked in grade 1 for the past 2 years. I love supporting and working with our wonderful students and have really enjoyed getting to know all of our preps. I am enjoying all the fun, colours and creativity that comes with working in this cohort and am leaving each day feeling so happy and fulfilled! My role is to support students’ learning and development and provide extra learning assistance. I love working here at sogs, as it has always been a positive and a supportive environment. I can’t wait to keep seeing all the growth and progress, as well as all the amazing things our preps are going to achieve this year.
Hello, my name is Miss Scarlett, and I work as a co-educator in Prep B. I’ve been part of the SoGS community for six years and I am super excited to be back in Prep this year. As a co-educator, I love supporting our learners as they grow in confidence, curiosity and independence. Every day is filled with heartwarming moments - whether it’s helping students discover new skills, fostering friendships or celebrating their achievements. SoGS is such a special place to work because of its warm and welcoming community, and I feel lucky to be part of a team that is so passionate! I look forward to a fantastic year ahead!
Hi, I’m Miss Kym! I’m a proud mother of two children in secondary college. In my free time, I love spending time at our farm in Beremboke, taking our boat out for water sports and fishing at Furnell Landing. I also enjoy walking and reformer Pilates to stay active.
I feel privileged to support the students and teachers at SOGS, helping to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for our youngest learners. I look forward to an exciting year ahead!
