Prep

This term our theme is ‘Our Community, Our World’. In this unit we will be learning more about our families, our school community and the wider community.
We would really love for our families to be involved in this unit as much as possible, so if you or a family member work in a role that helps our community, we would love for you come into our classrooms and share some of your stories with the children. Please let your classroom teacher know if you would like to do this; please make sure your Child Safe obligations are in place (see Volunteering at EHPS page in this newsletter).
Our learning this term will be supported by some fun incursions and activities:
- Monash Teddy Bear Hospital
- Fire Ed incursion
- Police incursion
- Community Walk
Perceptual Motor Program (PMP)
Our PMP (Perceptual Motor Program) will be on Tuesdays at 2.30pm in the Stadium this term; we commenced in week 2.
PMP is a structured sport and movement program designed to support the development of gross motor skills. Through a variety of fun and engaging activities, students will build important physical and cognitive skills that are essential for their growth and learning such as:
- Balance and coordination
- Strength and body control
- Spatial awareness
- Hand-eye and foot-eye coordination
- Movement confidence
These skills form the foundation for participation in sports, classroom learning, and everyday activities. PMP also supports social development, as students are grouped across classes and learn to take turns, follow instructions, and work cooperatively with others.
We need parent volunteers for PMP
We appreciate as many volunteers as possible each PMP session – ideally we need 8 to 10 helpers for each session. If you’ve presented your current Working With Children Check to our School Office, signed the Child Safety Code of Conduct acknowledgement to confirm your understanding and adherence to the relevant policies, and completed the OH&S induction for volunteers, please sign up using this link – https://signup.com/go/MRCdWgG – OR scan the QR on classroom windows.
