YEAR 11:

A NIGHT TO REMEMBER

BY DANIEL DEMA (SECONDARY TEACHER)

We are thrilled to share the success of the recent Year 11 American Prom Charity Social!

It was a truly memorable evening, organized by our incredible Year 11 students who put their hearts into creating a fantastic event for their peers.

The event, held on Friday, 30 August at the BHCS restaurant, brought the glitz and glamour of an American Prom right to our school. From the elegant attire to the lively activities, the night was filled with fun, laughter, and a sense of community. Students enjoyed an array of sweet and savoury finger foods and drinks throughout the evening, ensuring everyone was well-catered for.

One of the highlights of the evening was the selection of our Prom King and Queen. Congratulations to Mason W and Mikaela S, who were crowned as the royal couple of the night!

The night's entertainment included live music, a photo booth, karaoke, Just Dance, and a variety of games, where students eagerly participated in exchange for a gold coin donation. The event was not just about fun, though. Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, all proceeds from ticket sales and activity entries will be donated to the Smith Family charity, helping children gain access to education.

A special thank you goes out to our dedicated staff, whose support and hard work behind the scenes made this event possible. From assisting with the organisation to ensuring everything ran smoothly on the night, your contributions were invaluable.

We would also like to express our gratitude to the team of students who spearheaded this event: April H, Tae M, Clara W, Kenrick S, Toby J, Luke B, Isabel V, Bailey H, Jessica H, and Jorja W. Your creativity, leadership, and commitment made this night an unforgettable success! We are proud to have you as part of our SLC community.

Finally, thank you to everyone who purchased a ticket and those who contributed with gold coins on the night. Your support truly made a difference!
