Dear Families,
Firstly, thank you to our PFA for supporting our school Athletic's Day!
Great fun was had by all and it was lovely to see so many families coming along to enjoy the day with us.
We are currently looking for new members to join our PFA team for 2025. Please see the attached flyer for information about how and when to sign up at our Annual General Meeting.
Hot Dog Day:
The PFA have been working hard to organise our upcoming Hot Dog day. Families have until the 8th of November to get your order in. The QR Code to order is on the flyer below.
Book Club:
We are looking for a parent who would like to volunteer alongside one of our PFA members to run our Scholastic Book Club program at St Joseph’s! The Book Club is an excellent way to encourage a love of reading in our students, but we need your help to make it a success. If you’re looking for a way to make a meaningful contribution to our school community, this is a fantastic way to support both our students and teachers! Ideally we are looking for someone to begin this term, to be trained up and supported and then continue the program in 2025 and hopefully beyond!
Here’s what the role involves:
- Catalogues: Once the catalogues arrive at the office, they need to be sorted and placed in the teachers' tubs for distribution.
- Closing date: You’ll need to check the Scholastic portal for the issue's closing date and inform the office so they can send out reminders to parents.
- Order processing: When the closing day approaches, you’ll need to log into the Scholastic portal to "process orders" and close the issue so that Scholastics can begin processing the orders placed by parents.
- Book delivery: About a week later, the books will arrive at the office. You’ll then sort the books by student and distribute them to the teachers.
If you are interested in volunteering or have any questions, please email Rebecca Oszkinis at roszkinis@stjmern.catholic.edu.au.
