Year 4 Highlight

This term the Year 4 students are learning about Space in Discovery Based Learning. Here are some things we have learnt so far:

 

Alexander Tullio: “The Moon was formed by Earth hitting another planet. ”

Jaxson Glynn: “The Moon has 8 phases.”

Hargun Chahal: “Our Moon is the fifth largest satellite in the Solar System.”

Susie Yang: “Our Moon is the same width as mainland China.”

Gurman Aneja: “Every day it looks like the Moon is changing shape.”

Haneet Sidhu: “The word ‘month’ came from the Moon because it takes about a month for the Moon to orbit the Earth.” 

Liesel Wilkins: “When astronauts get back to Earth from space they can’t hear that well.”

Jaiden George: “The biggest crater on the Moon can fit Mount Everest inside it.”

Xavier Kairous: “Pluto is now classified as a dwarf planet.”

Jordan George: “The ancient planet that Earth crashed into was called Theia.”

Max Forde: “Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins had to spend 21 days in quarantine when they got back from the Moon.”

Alanna Folino: ‘“ It takes 30 earths for the Moon to travel around Earth’ 

Audrey Robertson: “A blood Moon happens twice a year”

Sebastian Monteverde: “Jupiter has around 70 moons”.
