What's happening in Italian?

ITALIAN DAY 

There is already lots of excitement about Italian Day which is fast approaching in Term 4. Italian Day will be celebrated on Thursday 7th November 2024.  Our theme this year will be CARNEVALE.  

The students have learnt about Carnevale earlier this year and the festivities that take place in Venice.  During Carnevale people get the chance to be whoever  they want to be and wear masks to hide their true identity.  So on Italian Day the children can pretend to be whoever they want to be and dress up accordingly. 

Some famous Carnevale Characters are Arlecchino, Colombina, Pulcinella and Dottor Balanzone.

The children will participate in various activities throughout the day and will be able to have pizza as part of their lunch and try some Italian sweets and gelati. 

More information will be provided about Italian day as we get closer to the date.
