Principal’s News

Dear Families,

If you go down to the woods today you're sure of a big surprise!!! What fun we had on Wednesday welcoming our new Preps for 2025 to their first orientation session and teddy bears picnic. There were many expressions of wonder as I stood at the school gate in my teddy bear costume ready to welcome next year's Preps.

We had the most wonderful morning reading stories, doing a craft activity, building friendships, and sharing in a picnic of teddy bear biscuits and watermelon. Very few tears were evident from the children with even our parents being very brave as they dropped their children to school for the first time.

We have many new families joining our school community which just continues to make us the most amazing place to make friends, learn, and belong.

Father’s Day Breakfast

Thanks to our wonderful P&F secretary Ash and her band of helpers who put on a delicious breakfast for our fathers, grandfathers, and special male role models.

It was a wonderful community event that drew us together in the spirit of gratitude. We were able to say thank you to all the wonderful men in St Joseph’s community. You really are so loved and appreciated by your children!

Champions of our School

I was delighted to be greeted by Fabien on Thursday morning with some very exciting news. Fabien arrived with a beaming smile letting me know that he had something important to tell me.

He carefully reached into his bag to reveal a framed certificate of achievement. Fabien was awarded a My Brother Jack Award for his short story.

Well done Fabien your story is wonderful and very well written.

Congratulations to Cooper who recently won the State Finals with his soccer team. Cooper is often seen kicking a soccer ball at school and it’s evident that all his hard work and training has paid off with this fantastic result. Cooper will compete with his team in the National Soccer Championships in Queensland. We wish you all the best Cooper as you take up this exciting challenge later in September.

Congratulations to our Year 4, 5, and 6 students who competed in the Dendy District Athletics in track and field events. Our children competed against other schools with a great spirit of competitiveness and cooperation.

We felt really proud on the day of the way the children encouraged each other and tried their very best.

Well done to the following children who won through to the Beachside Division on October 13th:

Alice A - Long Jump (after breaking the field record)

Callum W - 800m & 1500m

Amitie B - 200m

Maximillian - 200m

Good luck to Alice, Callum, Amite & Maximilian. We know you will try your very best.

Go team St Joseph’s!
