Our 2024 Production of 'Matilda Jr'

From the Performing Arts Captains

As the final curtain falls on our 2024 Production of Matilda Jr, we find ourselves looking back on what has been an extraordinary journey. The process of bringing this beloved musical to life has not only challenged us as choreographers and performers but has also left a lasting impact on everyone involved.

From the moment we began, our goal was to create something truly special. We immersed ourselves in the creative process, spending countless hours collaborating with teachers and peers. The experience has been transformative, expanding our skills in dance choreography, set design, and so much more. There were moments of triumph, like seeing our initial sketches evolve into lively, unforgettable scenes on stage. There were also challenges, such as unexpected interruptions in production schedules and last-minute role changes. Yet, through it all, our team’s resilience and passion never wavered.

Now that the lights have dimmed and the applause has faded, the real impact of Matilda Jr. is clear. This Production has brought us closer together as a community, forging bonds that will endure long after the final performance. It has also instilled in us a sense of confidence and accomplishment that we will carry with us into future endeavours.

For the nearly 1,000 people who attended our Production, we hope that Matilda Jr. was as magical to watch as it was for us to create. The energy, enthusiasm, and support from everyone who attended were integral to the success of this production. We are immensely proud of what we have achieved and deeply grateful to everyone who played a part in making it happen.

As we close this chapter, we carry with us not just memories of a successful show but the lessons learned and the joy shared. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey.

Special thanks to Nina Rossini, Rohan Bayley, and all the dedicated staff members for their invaluable contributions and countless hours both in and out of rehearsals, making this Production a reality.
