Kitchen Garden Program

This week with the help from Vinnies donations we cooked tomato pasta with cheese and made bread rolls.

The Cooking and Garden Program provides opportunities for children to share skills and support each other while learning new skills.  Our goal is to encourage healthy eating and expanding our students confidence through trying new activities.

The students who cook at home lead the way with their grating and chopping skills but I am pleased to share with you that they offer to show other students how to do these activities safely.   The encouraging words of support they share with each other is heart warming.

The sharing and inclusion the students show each other is a credit to them, they look out for each other and make sure everyone gets a turn.  It is a joy working with them and I look forward to many more Cooking and Gardening adventures in Term 4.

We would love to see you in our garden, the garden is for the whole community and we look forward to expanding it next Term.  We are keen to grow vegetables that you would want to use at home so please come and be a part of our garden program, pop in Tuesday afternoons during play time I will be out in the garden with the students, watering, weeding and planting.
