Work Experience Opportunities for Years 9 and 10: December 2nd – 6th, 2024

Edenhope College is excited to announce that our Year 9 and 10 students will have the valuable opportunity to participate in Work Experience from Monday, 2nd December to Friday, 6th December 2024. This is a fantastic chance for students to step into the world of work, explore potential career paths, and develop essential skills for their futures.

Work experience plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between education and the workplace. It allows students to:

  • Gain hands-on experience in industries of interest.
  • Develop communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in real-world settings.
  • Build confidence and independence by stepping outside their comfort zones.
  • Make connections with local employers, opening up future employment or apprenticeship opportunities.

At Edenhope College, we believe in the importance of early career exploration. This experience encourages students to think about their future pathways, whether that be in a trade, professional field, or further study. Many students have used this time to try out careers in fields such as healthcare, automotive technology, hospitality, engineering, retail, and more.

Key Information for Parents and Students:

Dates: Monday 2nd December – Friday 6th December 2024

Duration: 1 week

Preparation: Students will need to secure placements in their chosen industries by mid-November. The College will support students in finding placements and preparing for the experience.

Insurance: Edenhope College provides insurance coverage for students during their placements.

Students and families are encouraged to start discussing potential placements now and reach out to employers within the local community or further afield. If students are unsure where to start, our Work Experience Coordinator is available to assist with ideas, advice, and guidance on how to approach businesses.

We’re looking forward to hearing the success stories from our Year 9 and 10 students and seeing how this experience helps shape their future goals.
