Hello everyone,
Please take note- the last day for our students is Tuesday 19th December!
Normal finish time of 3:10pm.
Change to Webster Street school crossing.
Next year the school crossing in Webster St won't have a supervisor as Vic Roads considers that the traffic volume is low and a supervisor isn't required. Our school has been paying for a supervisor for a number of years and, apart from the considerable cost to our school budget, we are legally not allowed to staff the crossing.
This change means that we will all need to be more careful at the front of the school, drive slowly, watch out for children crossing the road, park only in marked parking bays and parents/adults will need to be more active in teaching their children how to cross the road safely.
At school, we will continue to teach our children about road safety and the staff member on before school duty will be at the front of the school to help with supervision, however, they won't be the school crossing supervisor.
Rubbish!
Our school offers a wonderful gardening program that helps our students to learn how to look after the soil, insects, plants and the environment. Part of looking after our environment is reducing the amount of rubbish we produce that goes to landfill. We would like to reduce the amount of rubbish at our school and you can help us! When you pack your child's lunchbox, please try to pack 'nude food' or food that is in reusable containers rather than throw away packaging. We will be encouraging our students to put their rubbish back in the lunchboxes to take home rather than in the bins here.
2024 parent payment arrangements.
This week I emailed our 2024 Parent Payment arrangements for each year level. I have also attached the documents below and they are also available on our school website- https://www.benviolet.vic.edu.au/parent-information-notes Payments don't need to be made until next year.

Monday 29th January Teachers are back at school.
Tuesday 30th January all our students are at school including our Foundation students. (Foundation students will be with us for the four days, Tuesday to Friday, then have Wednesday's off for February.)
