Seesaw

Seesaw at St Carlo’s

At St Carlo’s students learning is documented through an application named Seesaw.

This is an exciting opportunity for each student to build a digital learning portfolio of work and activities that will;

  • Help them “show what they know” using a variety of methods and media
  • Enable easier sharing between school and home of student learning
  • Showcase learning to a real audience
  • Allow for feedback from teachers and parents

Seesaw is a school controlled, secure learning environment. The classroom teachers will approve each item of work uploaded and any comments from parents.

You will also be notified when your child adds new content to their journal and have the opportunity to positively acknowledge and praise your child’s great work. The seesaw journals are private and only accessible by a student, their own parents and teacher.

Seesaw has a robust privacy policy (https://app.seesaw.me/about/privacy)  that is in line with St. Carlo’s own privacy policy and has committed to never share your child’s personal information or journal content. You can find information about Seesaw at http://web.seesaw.me/

As Seesaw is used as a learning portfolio to showcase and document what your child is learning, we encourage positive comments to be left on your child’s work.

Please note that communication to the classroom teacher regarding information on your child leaving early or arriving late as well as all absentee notes must also go through the front office only (Audiri). The classroom teacher is unable to send your child up to the office to be picked up early or pass on any information to your child that has not gone through the office. You may contact the office through email at office@scgreenvale.catholic.edu.au

If you do not have access to your child’s journal or would like other family members to be connected, please send your classroom teacher and email or email jsardo@scgreenvale.catholic.edu.au. More information will be sent home in the Term 1 Curriculum Overviews next week.
