From the Classroom

It has been a busy week in 1/2A this week! 

We have spent the last few weeks looking at making connections in our reading. This week, we have focused on text to world connections. Some of the connections that we have noticed have been how emergency services help people out throughout the world! 

Our writing focus this week has been book reviews. Each student has picked a picture storybook that they enjoy reading and has been working on writing a review of this book that they will then share with the class next week.

In our maths, we have started focusing on chance and data. We have been looking at the different words to describe events such as certain, impossible, likely and unlikely and we also put together a bar graph of our favourite colours! 

Finally, we have started to look at healthy eating. Students have been able to identify different foods which are good and bad to have in their lunchbox as well as the healthy food pyramid.
