Thank You
Ms Black
I moved to Leongatha from North East Victoria to be closer to my daughter and her family. I thought I had retired from teaching 10 years ago, but I missed working with children and registered for Casual Relief Teaching which kept me busy for the eight years before moving to South Gippsland.
In 2022, I was fortunate to be offered the position of teaching foundation one day a week, sharing a classroom with Kate Browne and working with Simone Pouw. Feeling lucky to have been part of the St Laurence O'Toole family for the last two years, I made the decision not to renew my teacher registration and to hang up my hat for good in September of this this year.
In my retirement I hope to find time to complete the many crochet projects I have planned to do for my grandchildren; to pursue my hobby of creating professional photo shows; to devote more time to Grandma duties and continue my many years association with the CFA, having transferred to both Leongatha Fire Brigade and District 9 Headquarters Fire Brigade, engaging in non-operational support.
I have loved my time at St Laurence's and plan to return on occasions to engage in voluntary work and to keep contact with the staff.
Many, many years ago, growing up as kids we looked forward to tuning in to ABC radio for the reading of The Small One. I still love to listen every year. I hope you enjoy it too.
