I would like to wish our staff who are on leave and moving onto new opportunities the very best! In particular I would like to thank Mr Jarrad Rose for the contributions he has made to Langwarrin Park Primary School over a number of years. He has taught across all areas of the school and he has made a considerable impact on the students he has taught. We will miss Jarrad’s presence at Langy Park, however it is a very exciting opportunity for him!

Grade 6 Farewell

On Wednesday night we had our Grade 6 Graduation Ceremony at EMC. This was a very special occasion for all our Grade 6 students and their families. It was an important way to recognise their achievements during their time at Langwarrin Park Primary School.

On behalf of our school community, I would like to congratulate all our Grade 6 students on what they have achieved this year. They have all greatly contributed to our school community over a number of years and they are ready to begin the next stage of their learning journey.

The Year that Was

I could not be prouder as Principal of Langwarrin Park Primary School. The improvements we have made across different areas of our school this year has been nothing short of spectacular! This was highlighted by Stan Szuty (SEIL) at our end of year review meeting. He was very quick to highlight the upward trajectory we are now starting to achieve in all our core data sets. These results are a reflection of our outstanding senior leadership team. I would like to thank Kym and Deb for doing an outstanding job to lead our Teaching and Learning and Wellbeing priorities this year. They have done all the heavy lifting to set clear priorities and achievable actions. They have been ably supported by our team of Learning Specialists in Brenda, Jo and Sharna. We are so fortunate to have these three leaders. They are outstanding practitioners and leaders. They have greatly influenced all teachers and to build consistency of practice between classrooms.

Our results are also a strong reflection of our teaching staff and education support staff. The work they have done everyday in their classrooms has been carefully planned and delivered. All our PLCs this year have taken a highly collaborative and data focused approach. They have supported the wellbeing of all students and ensured they were providing a safe and nurturing environment.

Langy Park has an amazing parent community. We have and will continue to foster close and positive partnerships with our parents and carers. It has been highly evident that we have parents who want to be involved with their child’s learning and we need to continue to review how we best achieve this.

I would like to congratulate all our students at Langy Park. It has been an absolute pleasure to witness their growth this year; in and out of the classroom.

With all our achievements, we now must maintain our razor sharp focus into 2024. In the teaching and learning space our specific focus will be teacher feedback to students. Conversely, we will also be focusing on student feedback to teachers. Our PLC will continue to be the main driver with improving student outcomes. Kym Gilchrist will continue to attend all PLC planning times to ensure there is consistency with how our PLCs engage. We will continue to develop consistency with the implementation of Berry St strategies in all classrooms. Deb will lead all comprehensive wellbeing work- THRIVE, Berry St and behaviour management framework will be major focal points. The wellbeing team will be also doing a huge amount of work in the DIP profile space and pursuing funding for our Tier 3 students.

Last Day of the School Year

Our final day for students will be on Tuesday 19th December. The finishing time will be 3.30pm.

On behalf of all the staff here at Langy Park Primary School, I would like to thank you all for support and commitment this year. We should not take for granted how great our school community is. Together this year we have achieved so much, and I have absolute confidence we will continue to build on this next year.

For those who are finishing up at Langy Park- Good Luck! And for those who are returning; we look forward to seeing your smiling faces next year.

We wish you all a very safe and happy holiday.

Take care.

Richard
