A Warm and Welcoming Coffee Morning
It was wonderful to see so many parents at our recent Coffee Morning, and we were especially delighted to be joined by our Foundation families. These mornings provide a fantastic opportunity for parents to connect, share experiences, and build a strong sense of community, fostering meaningful relationships that support both families and the school. Strong connections between parents and the school contribute to a more supportive and engaged learning environment for our children!
A special thank you to Sheri Seyit for her exceptional barista skills, treating everyone to her delicious coffee, and to Anna Terzi for her invaluable assistance in assisting us to host the event. Your efforts helped create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all!
We look forward to more opportunities to come together and strengthen our school community. Our Coffee Mornings will be taking place each term.
Thank you to everyone who attended—we hope to see you at the next one!
Supporting Student Wellbeing: Mental Health Social Worker Now Available
We are pleased to announce that our school has partnered with onPsych to provide additional support for student wellbeing. As part of this initiative, we now have a dedicated Mental Health Social Worker, Luchi, available to offer appointments for students (onsite at school) who may benefit from professional guidance and support.
About onPsych Services
OnPsych provides bulk-billed (no out-of-pocket expense) mental health services under various programs, including the GP Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Through the MHCP, eligible students can access up to 20 counselling sessions per year with a mental health social worker.
How to Access This Service
If you would like your child to access this support, please follow these steps:
- Complete the referral paperwork (contact the school - HERE for more information).
- Book a double appointment with your GP to discuss your child's emotional wellbeing.
- Obtain a referral under the Better Access Initiative (Item 2715/2700).
- Have your GP email the referral to the school - HERE.
- OnPsych will then contact you to arrange an initial appointment for you and your child.
Why Consider Mental Health Support?
Mental health is just as important as physical health. This is a Tier 3 support we are excited to offer our students. Providing early support can help children build resilience, manage emotions, and develop coping strategies for life’s challenges. Whether your child is experiencing anxiety, difficulties with friendships, emotional regulation challenges, or other concerns, follow the steps to access onPsych support for your child at school.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss this further, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Warmly,
Samantha Meddis
