Parent Help
Once or twice a term we would greatly appreciate help in covering books.
Boxes of books with contact supplied can be made up and covering can be done at home at your discretion. If you can help out with this we would love to hear from you.
If you are able to assist please email Sharon - HERE.
We will also require assistance in Term 3 for the book fair. Please keep an eye out in Term 2 for more details regarding this.
Mindful Wednesdays
We are excited to announce the return of Mindful Wednesday Mornings, beginning in Week 3 on Wednesday, 12th February. These sessions will be held at 8:45am in 2MS (Michelle’s classroom) and are open to all students.
Mindful Wednesday Mornings offer students a calm, focused start to their day, helping them build emotional regulation, focus, and resilience. Through guided breathing, simple yoga, and visualisation, students develop a positive mindset to face challenges with confidence and begin their day feeling centred and ready to learn.
We look forward to seeing our students embrace this valuable initiative as part of our ongoing commitment to fostering a strong wellbeing culture at our school.
2025 Permissions & Agreements
You may have noticed that we have adjusted our photo permissions in our Compass ‘2025 Permissions & Agreements’ form, in line with the new Department of Education’s ‘Photographing, Filming & Recording Students Policy' (the NLPS version can found here).
We’d like to clarify that there are now three 'levels' of consent that require your response. If you do not provide at least the first level of consent, your child/ren may be affected in their new classrooms and could potentially feel excluded.
- I consent to use of images of my child within the physical school environment – i.e. for photos that go up in classrooms or nearby corridors (e.g. displays of student birthdays, pictures of class and school events, and student award winners)
- I consent to the use of images of my child within the school community – i.e. online learning and teaching tools (e.g. emails, classroom blogs, or apps and sites that can only be accessed by students, parents/carers and school staff with passwords, including NLPS TV)
- I consent to the use of images of my child beyond the school community/publicly – i.e. the school website, NLPS newsletter and social media account
If you have already completed the Compass form and have selected ‘No’ to the three levels explained above, you may wish to change your consent to allow for permission ‘within the physical school environment’ so your child can at least have their image shown in their classroom (e.g. for Student of the Week, birthday charts, other classroom displays, including pics of class events such as camp or the Book Character Parade).
For those with students that may wish to appear on NLPS TV segments, parent consent for the second level is also required. Please send your written request to change the current permission settings to the school office as soon as possible via email - HERE.
Thank you for taking the time to read through and consider these new changes that the DET have brought in.
