Prayer

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
As we begin this new school year, Lord Jesus, unbind us that we may love you wholly
and walk in the freedom of your way of life and holiness.
May there be nothing which keeps us from the joy of living in your presence.
Lord Jesus let us remember the past with gratitude,
Live the present with enthusiasm
And look to the future with confidence. Amen.
Pope Francis together with the Catholic Church has declared 2025 as the year of HOPE. The theme for Catholic Education in 2025 is "Pilgrims of Hope", this year has also been declared a Jubilee Year. A Jubilee year happens every 25 years.
This year of Jubilee promises to be a journey of faith, reflection, and community for all of us. As we embraced the theme of "Pilgrims of Hope" which invites each one of us to reflect on our personal spirituality and our desire for hope and renewal.
By participating in prayer, liturgies, community service, and acts of kindness, we will deepen our connection with one another and strengthen our shared mission of making the world a better place. We can easily do this at school by practicing Faith, Care, Justice, and positive behaviour for Learning.
The theological virtue of hope is the power by which we desire the Kingdom of Heaven as our happiness, placing our trust in Christ's promises and relying not on our own strength, but on the grace of the Holy Spirit. Jesus will give us the graces that we need for the journey to Heaven.
We are in the process of piloting the Alpha Youth program at our college this term. Alpha Youth Series is a new way for young people to explore life, faith and purpose. Made for this generation, the new series creatively unpacks the real questions young people have. The series introduces and explores the core ideas of the Christian faith, in a relevant and engaging way. Every Alpha session includes these three things: food, a short presentation on the Christian faith, and a small group discussion. Even though each of these elements will always be involved, every Alpha is going to look a little different depending on the group.
