The ANU Solar Racing Showcase

The ANU Solar Racing team invited students to explore their journey into solar-power and sustainable technology. They delved into how the team designs their cars to compete in the biennial Bridgestone World Solar Challenge. Students from the Wagga schools, including Kildare (Year 10 & 11 Design & Technology, Year 11 Maths and Physics), had the opportunity to learn from the team in workshops such as building towers, communication through blindfolding, & Shark Tank, just to name a few, all designed to demonstrate a range of business, design and STEM skills in action.
Thank you to the ANU Team and TransGrid Discovery Hub for engaging the students and sparking an interest in solar power and sustainable technologies.
Thanks to our Kildare students who were engaged in the activities and participated with interest as well as having fun.
“It was insightful to be able to see and learn about how the students from ANU were able to design, make and race their own solar car.” Miguel Quitola
“We had a fun time rotating through the work stations and getting hands-on experience. Thanks to TransGrid and the ANU students for making the day happen.”Blake Smith
